KENNEDY AGYAPONG MUST NOT GO UNPUNISHED

The NDC Professionals Forum – International, by this statement condemn the vitriolic attack on President Mahama and other NDC functionaries by MP for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in no uncertain terms.

It is regrettable to have such a character in our body politics and most importantly in parliament representing the good people of Assin Central and act in such manner. To threaten to burn the house of a former President and his party functionaries for disagreeing with election results and legitimately protesting as means of airing out one’s grievances is most absurd. It is undemocratic, irresponsible, and very regrettable.

Indeed, we seek by this statement to call on the leadership of parliament to whip Kennedy Agyapong in-line by using the laid down rules to discipline him. He has brought the high office of parliament to disrepute and must not go unpunished. Failure to do so, will clearly demonstrate that leadership of parliament condone such animalistic tendencies. Kennedy Agyapong must be reminded that we are in a civilized world and not a jungle where everything gets eaten.

As responsible Ghanaians in the diaspora, we find Mr. Agyapong’s behavior as unworthy. Ghanaians are generally cultured, very civil, and decorous in our dealings and this attitude from Kennedy Agyapong dents the image of our beloved country.

He may have gotten away in the past with such unguarded and useless comments to a point, where a section of Ghanaians have alleged that he may have a hand in the killing of an investigative journalist Ahmed Suale who was unearthing corruption at the presidency.

We cannot continue to allow him to get away with such ‘nonsense’ and must be brought to book. Furthermore, President Akufo-Addo must equally show leadership and condemn such behavior since he is almost out and soon to be an ex-President.

Signed

Arnold Appiah

President
