NDC outdoors platform to collect dues, filing fees online

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has introduced a digital payment platform to allow members to file nominations online, pay monthly dues, and register new members.

The www.ghanandc.com and the shortcode *920*25# give members various options from the comfort of their homes.

According to the Deputy General Secretary, Peter Otokunor, a QR code will be posted at all NDC offices and other vantage points to give easy access to members to scan and pay anywhere across the country.

He further added that all transactions across the digital platforms are only accessible when members input their digital membership card numbers and phone contacts in filling in the blanks.

At the launch of a road map for internal elections, the General Secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the innovation is to eliminate disagreements that come with filing nominations and this will also help the party keep track of paid-up members.

However, the party maintained its monthly dues at GHc2 and GHc10 as filing fees for aspiring branch executives.

WILL THE FINANCE MINISTER TAKE 25 MILLION CEDIS FROM DATABANK AND INVEST IN A CATHEDRAL?

The NDC Professionals Forum in the United States wish to express their disappointment with the reason given by the finance minister that we cannot grow without spirituality.

The issue of faith, beliefs and indoctrination etc are individual based and cannot be used as a yardstick for national development or growth.

What the finance minister refuses to acknowledge is the fact that we cannot grow as a nation without accountability.

Accountability to the constitution is what’s supposed to be paramount and that’s what we must protect and guide with every toil of ours as a country in practice.

Engaging in issues of spirituality is something that one cannot authenticate in real life and real time. It only serves as a mind game to prey on the religious weakness of the masses while the government shirks it responsibility.

As a matter of principle, if the finance minister believes that investing in cathedral at this critical point in the economy of our country is the most ideal, customers of databank are part of Ghanaians who believe in the so-called spirituality and would be fair to take their money and throw it into a cathedral project.

One would have thought that with the current economic hardships in the country and the potential of destabilizing the peace and security of our nation, the finance minister would be more prudent and smarter in his decisions. A whooping 25 million cedis to be invested into a cathedral is just absurd to think of.

A 25 million Ghana fund for smaller businesses with a lower interest rate can boost the production of smaller companies and will help reduce unemployment and feed families.

This desperate decision to invest in a cathedral is as a result of the Akuffo Addo-Bawumia failed policies that eventually existed on paper and not in real terms.

If the President is unsure about how he will be remembered and even recognized in the good books of Ghana, he needs to step up and deliver on his promises. The attempt to make the cathedral his source of remembrance in the minds of Ghanaians will not fly.

The timing for the establishment of a cathedral is just wrong and a misplaced priority.

NDC must become party of opportunities – Haruna Iddrisu

The Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged the National Democratic Congress to become a party of opportunities for all.

“Opportunity for youth, opportunity for women and provide a protective space for our women who may not be able to engage in the rigorous black male campaign,” he said at a lecture to mark the NDC’s 30th anniversary.

Mr. Iddrisu noted that the party needed to put in place a new plan to ensure equity for its prospective legislators.

“We need to draw a roadmap and a new strategy as to how to determine members of Parliament democratically while waning and watering down the influence of money in the choice of our candidates for competitive elections within the NDC.”

He expects that this will get the best out of the party’s human resources.

“We need to deepen the values and ethos of democracy within the party, give the opportunity to every other person with the party to release their full potential within established rules and norms established by the party,” the Minority Leader said.

Rescuing Ghanaians

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah also indicated that the party is committed to rescuing Ghanaians from the NPP’s poor governance in 2024.

The NDC General Secretary said the governing party has proven not to care about Ghanaians. Mr. Nketiah said the present situation is indicative of how badly the governing party has performed. He expressed the NDC’s commitment to “rescuing Ghanaians from NPP’s bad leadership.”
